Hello! I am a Colombian-American composer and flutist from the San Francisco Bay Area with a Bachelor of Music degree in Composition from San Jose State University. I have been working as a freelance musician for about 5 years. As a performer, I play just about anything and enjoy challenging myself with new repertoire, I particularly like playing Romantic or Modern music! After graduating from Cal Poly with a concentration in performance and theory, I was musical director of The Great American Melodrama and Vaudeville theater. For beginners, I like to start with the Standard of Excellence book 1, and intermediate students with book 2. The trombone is such a versatile instrument that there are tons of different styles of playing to practice. Depending on the student's level I will build curriculum for them. We will also play duets together, because it's very important to learn how to play well with others. Scales, lip slurs, and other exercises will be implemented as well. Read More
