My teaching experience began in my post undergraduate college days. After graduation, I began studying at a studio called Jazz Improv with a Master's level instructor. One of his students asked for a saxophone teacher and the party was referred to me. I was then able to obtain a second saxophone student; I have also had two piano students when teaching. I believe in music lessons there must be a balance. Especially on an instrument like guitar. Lessons should consist of a list of certain things almost like a checklist. First there is warm up and tuning. To make sure you are warmed up and in tune there are exersizes I like to start with my students. For young beginners, I prefer to use Alfred, piano adventure and Bastien method book. I also use piano tree to teach young kids as well. Once my students finish the fundamental study I will begin to introduce classical pieces and all other genres as well.
