I took guitar with Michael Engberg there for two years and also took fundamentals of music, music business, music technology, and a song writing class. I transferred over to Metropolitan State University of Denver and began my Bachelors degree sequence under the wing of Alex Komodore. I graduated from Metro in May 2014 with a Bachelors Degree in Classical Guitar Performance, and the experience thus far has been amazing. In 2011, I graduated from the University of Denver with a Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance. I gave two recitals at the Univeristy in 2010 and 2011, and performed Rhapsody in Blue with the Aurora Symphony Orchestra in 2010. I have been working as an instructor for over 15 years. I can teach all ages and backgrounds, and have a very patient approach. I recently moved to the Denver area, and I am excited to start up and build a new student base. I love teaching, and I firmly believe that almost anyone can be taught to do almost anything! I have music degrees from Hope College in Holland, Michigan, and USF in Tampa, Florida. After teaching at Hope for 6 years, I joined the Air Force to play with the world-class musicians that make up their bands. I spent 8 1/2 years in Colorado Springs stationed at Peterson AFB, and I loved it! I then moved to Illinois to be stationed at Scott AFB, playing with the USAF Band of Mid-America. Read More

I encourage students to set goals for each week and complete them. If your children want to learn the cello, I will use encouragement and play as a way to introduce music. Being a friend with them, introducing and getting to know the cello in this way is an important criterion for me. I hope everyone can learn the piano happily and enjoy the fun of playing the cello. In my piano classes I use the Bastien piano method beginning at the primer level for the children. If they have had previous lessons, I am more than willing to continue with their current method. For adult piano students I use the Older Beginner Piano Course by Bastien. Again, if they wish to continue with previously studied materials, I am more than happy to comply with that.
