Depending on the instrument, I will bring in another method book specific to that instrument book and we will also use some sort of etude book. For a typical beginner, I will first teach posture and note identification followed by basic warm-ups. Once the basics are taught, the student will be allowed more flexibility in the repertoire and specific skills he/she wants to learn.
