My teaching journey began in and throughout college in 2016, when I began teaching lessons privately, and after receiving my second degree, I teach from my in-home studio. Since I began studying at a young age, I have a special love and passion for helping my students with the piano. Teaching students from five years to 75 years, I am thankful my teaching experience has been very diverse; I enjoy the challenge of an advanced student, and the energy of a new student; always looking to bring on new students of all ages. I am willing to meet them wherever they are musically. After carefully assessing each of my students, and determining whether or not he or she are beginners, intermediate or advanced, I start them in the lesson book that is according to the level they are at. I teach from Alfred's Piano Course, but if my student has a piano book already, it is not a problem to teach from that series. Once my student has progressed and has a strong understanding of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire for their recitals and personal interest. Read More

I am well versed of the many piano method books out there for students today. I recommend to my younger students Alfreds Premier Piano Course or Fabers Piano Adventures. For my adult students, I recommend Alfreds All-in-One Adult Piano Course because it offers a coherent approach to a well-rounded music education at the piano. I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I graduated from Norfolk State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education. I grew up playing piano and singing in church and was previously Minister of Music at my former church where I was responsible for singing and playing piano.
