Coming from an education background, I have several diverse experiences which qualify me to teach music. In college I majored in music education and developed tools to introduce beginners, both children and older amateurs, to music. I student taught students K-12 in choir, piano, theater, and general music. Because the voice is the only instrument we cannot see with the naked eye, voice lessons must be extremely interactive. I believe in catering each lesson towards the goals of the individual student. I also believe in the collaboration of teacher and student. I am always asking students opinions or reactions on what we work on in the lesson. I want to empower my students at every level to become more aware of their instrument to the point that they can eventually become their own teacher to a certain extent. Read More

My classical piano teaching experience began during my undergraduate college years with coaching chamber rehearsals on my written works. I have also taught all ages privately starting in 2016 at Menchey Music and have been consistent for 3 years. I motivate my students by showing them the challenges ahead and the rewards and accomplishments they bring with it. I began my music training during the age of 5 at the School for Musically Gifted Children.  I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Music, summa cum laude, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and received my Master's Degree (also summa cum laude) from the Moscow Conservatory.  In addition, I was very fortunate to study with renowned teachers at the Music Conservatory in St. Petersburg.  In 1995, I came to the United States and am blessed to be a citizen. After this, Erik continued teaching private lessons in Easton, Pennsylvania, building a studio focused on strong musical fundamentals, confidence, and long-term growth for students. He currently serves as the band director for the homeschool co-op Knowlton Fine Arts, where he leads students in ensemble playing and helps guide their musical development through structured band instruction. In addition to directing the band program, Erik is also a brass instructor at The Lesson Center, teaching at three locations and working with brass students to strengthen technique, tone, and musical expression.
