Namely, sheet-music for favourite songs, tunes, and melodies which they could then read and master visually what I had picked up audibly. Seeing the joy on my classmates' faces was always a pleasure of mine, so I indulged in it wherever possible, eventually taking it to the internet and indulging learners across borders, and from there, my lessons have evolved from mere musical distribution to regular and consistent technical tutoring. The only reason I'm still pursuing music today is because i love it and i want to encourage others to do the same. Guitar/Ukulele/Banjo: I like to teach guitar, banjo, and ukulele like I was taught, which is through an exploration of music that the student's already like. I start with basic technique, then move towards chords and other chord shapes, then we would move to more technical tablature. there would be a lot of opportunities to practice compositional skills and improvisational skills. For voice students, I have my own curriculum to help them know how to use their voice in a good way. For piano beginning students I typically start with Piano Adventures method. For Flute students, I start with Rubank Elementary method. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire. I have song lists that have songs in different styles and levels for the student to choose from, and I also encourage students bringing songs they like to keep the lessons engaging and fun. Read More

While most beginning students respond well to the Suzuki method, I also incorporate elements of traditional (namely note-reading) and Dalcroze methods (namely movement, improv, and aural skills) in my teaching. I am also experienced in preparing students for auditions and examinations, such as the Royal Conservatory of Music examination in Canada and ABRSM in the UK. For more information on Suzuki method, please visit https://suzukiassociation.org/about/suzuki-method/ For more information on Dalcroze method, please visit https://dalcrozeusa.org/about-dalcroze/what-is-dalcroze/ Read More

Comprehensive method individually structured for each student. Books depending on level and age start with Standard of Excellence and are individually chosen to support the student. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

I graduated with my Bacholers in Music and Pyschology with a focus on opera voice in 2009. In my performance program I really grew as a vocalist and learned how to overcome my own obstacles and improve my vocal technique for myself. I feel confident now in sharing my experience and my education with my students so they are able to really grow and improve as well. I started professionally and privately studying vocal technique when I was 17 and prior to that I was performing musical theater in school and in community performance groups. Read More
Instruments: Piano Guitar Voice
I have been been playing piano in an academic setting for 20 years, voice for 9 years, and guitar for 8. During my time in high school I began teaching by tutoring my peers in music performance, music theory, and music history. I have studied various musical genres and I always love to cater my lessons to the needs of each individual student. I make it a habit of writing exercises for students so that they can work on something specifically suited to their current musical ability, and will help them grow as a performer. Read More
