I provide Beginner to Intermediate lessons in voice and piano. I am a professional singer/songwriter/recording artist with 10 years of training in voice and 12 years of training in piano. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Business from Anderson University (Anderson, Indiana) where I studied voice with Dr. Jeffrey Ballard and piano with Professor Ken Chan.By taking voice lessons with me, you will increase your vocal range, learn correct breathing methods and healthy practice/warm-up exercises, and gain confidence in your performance skills, all while singing the songs and music styles YOU enjoy.With piano lessons, you will learn beginner music theory (including scales, chords, time signatures, key signatures, etc.), exercises to increase dexterity, and how to play the songs YOU want to play. I use different book series, depending on the age and level of the student. For young students, I start with the little Mozarts book series, lesson books, and workbooks. For older students, I will either use Bastien or Alfreds lesson and workbooks. This is mixed with a classical and folk book. We also work on theory, and making sure we know our intervals. So I have combined my teaching experiences with what I have learned in Masters program to come up with new method of teaching the students. My lessons  are innovative and creative. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonards Essential Elements book, as well a basic understanding of music. Once the student has progressed to have a nice grasp of the fundamentals of music, I usually begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance.
