Regardless of which direction the student wishes to take their musical development, a foundation of classical training is mandatory. I am a composer and performer rooted in Elkridge, Maryland. I write music in many genres and styles for a variety of performers and different ensembles, typically specializing in repertoire for small chamber ensembles. I am as comfortable conceiving of works for two clarinets as I am crafting a piece out of cat meows and synthesized bird sounds. I want to guide my students to the music that inspires them, and has them enjoying the music they are making. I look to make lessons educational, productive, but also simply as fun as possible.
