Teaching begins by building rapportunderstanding each students passions and goals. In our first session we talk about what draws them to the piano and set short‐ and longterm objectives. A brief assessment of technique then guides personalized lesson plans that blend technical drills (scales, arpeggios) with engaging repertoire. I adapt lessons for visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learnersusing playful activities for younger students and deeper analysis for older ones. My teaching experience began at age eighteen, when I started teaching private lessons part time until I figured out what I wanted to do with my life. I've taught at piano retail establishments, in home and currently I'm teaching in my own studio. I'm a recording artist, singer and composer. Students regularly give feedback on the music they are making, as well as any new ways they think I might be helpful to them. I use Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligence Theory to help inform me of the students learning style. My goal is to nurture each students musical process.
