As an operatic soprano, I have performed professionally with Opera Fort Collins, Opera Steamboat and in various concert settings in Dallas-Fort Worth. I graduated with my Master of Music from Colorado State University in 2019, where I served in both performance and teaching roles. Children should get their beginnings in technique books and eventually music that stimulates further growth and interest; and adults, like the kids, importance is placed on technique, but even moreso, good practice techniques! As adults we quickly lose patience and revert to bad habits when it comes to practice, and that slows growth, develops poor technique and narrows our abilities to only what we currently know. I believe that a holistic view of teaching provides a full spectrum of knowledge to my students; this includes theory, improvisation, and popular tunes (in addition to sight reading and technique).
