For beginner students who are children, I usually use Faber and faber method series or the Alfred method series. All curriculum is based on age, so that it will help students learn at their own pace and level. Once the student gets to a certain point, I start adding in fun pieces that the child suggest, or might like, to add to what he or she is already learning. Once students have progressed past this book, I use the Tune a Day series along with the accompanying scale book. This book introduces students to solo and duet pieces worthy of a recital performance. I believe in individualized learning. So each student will receive their own plan for their progression. Some materials I recommend for students are the rubank book for beginner. It is very important for students to grasp the fundamentals. For intermediate students, we would progress on a track and focus on what they had for goals.
