After receiving her Bachelor’s degree, she moved to Cincinnati to continue her studies with a Graduate Incentive Award Scholarship. She completed with a Masters of Music as well as an Artist Diploma at University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music under Dr. Catharine Lees and Mr. Masao Kawasaki. I have taught a heavy schedule of students most of my adult life. For the years between 1995 and 2001 my touring schedule as a road musician prevented me from teaching. Since returning in '02 until covid shut us down I averaged 80 private students a week. For the beginner who is 11 or younger, I start with John Thompson's Piano Courses to make sure the student familiar with all necessary elements of music. Then I will introduce some music that helps developing fingers appropriately and beautiful at the same time, such as Lemoine and Burgnlueller. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more.
