I love the art of communicating or telling a story through music. I am a professional performer and vocal instructor, and have sung on professional stages such as Mount Baker Theater's repertory theater and the Whatcom Symphony opera series in Bellingham, Washington. I am a classically trained musician and relish singing folk, jazz, and other popular styles of singing. After graduating with my masters in voice performance from University of Nebraska - Lincoln, I decided that the Twin Cities would a fantastic place to extend my love for teaching and get back on the stage. I am a violinist based in Minneapolis, and have studied under Fargo Moorhead Symphony's Joan Covington, as well as Minnesota Orchestra's Roger Frisch. I served as concertmaster to the Central Lakes Symphony Orchestra in the Alexandria Lakes area, MN for two years, and served as concertmaster in the University of Minnesota Campus Orchestra. I perform as a violinist in pitt ensembles throughout the Twin Cities, and greater Minnesota region. I also attended Suzuki institute for 10 years as a student and observed teaching classes during my last two years there during the first few years of teaching at my studio. Read More

It is vital to show every student how talented they are. I set students up for success by giving them goals that are objective, acheivable, and flexible. Students should know exactly what I expect for the next lesson, so they can be be prepared. My goals for students are never to frustrate them, but challenge them to be better than they thought they could be. I like to leave each lesson with specific goals, but these goals have lots of room for "extra credit," meaning that students can experiment on thier own time with the exercises, allowing them to develope thier own unique musical style.
