I have a four-fold method system for teaching the flute based on tone, scales, etudes, and solo and orchestral repertoire. From the start I see the importance at learning and accomplishing the goal of learning a solo piece. Whether that is an absolutely beginning learning simple tunes, to collegiate level exam pieces. Teaching violin is my greatest passion in life and I have dreamt of teaching since I was very young. I went to Mason Gross for both music education and also for violin performance. I teach strings in public school at East Greenwich and I play in many orchestras in the area. Recently, I have performed with the Ocean City Pops Orchestra and I served as section leader for the Classical Music Festival in Eisenstadt, Austria where we performed in the Haydnsaal and St Stephens Kirchedom in Vienna and these were huge opportunities! For beginning students, I generally start with Suzuki Method, Sassmannshaus, and my own methods which I have created over the years. I emphasize the importance of ear training, becuase that is what allows us to know if we are playing correctly. For intermediate and advanced students, we work very heavily on warm ups, scales, etudes, and repertoire. I can still remember the joy I felt when I first started playing drums and my passion is helping people experience that joy. In my musical career, spanning 38 years, I have performed with varied groups including: drumset with The Road Runners Blues Band, Catfish and Paul Plumeri Blues Band; West African, Middle Eastern and Afro-Cuban percussion with Groove Merchant Drum Dance Ensemble; bodhran and bones with traditional Celtic bands Kintail, Cwn Annwn and Browne Jenkyn; and snare drum with The First Highland Watch of Pennsylvania and Rev War Re-enactors First NJ Volunteers.
