After moving to the United States, my part-time orchestra jobs have included principal student violist of Conway Symphony Orchestra, associate principal violist of Pine Bluff Symphony Orchestra, and sectional violist of Texarkana Symphony Orchestra. I have gradually understood the importance of the viola section, and how to contribute to an orchestra as a single violist. Three semesters later in May 2012, I received an Artist Diploma from the UCA, and then started to working on my Master Degree there in August 2012. Read More

Instruments: Voice
My teaching methods are very straightforward. We spend a lesson working through one or two songs. These songs can be provided by the student or by myself. After running through the songs we examine the tools that would be best used to improve the sound and performance of the songs. The most common techniques that I use in lessons are chiaroscuro resonance, even flow phonation, and vowel equalization. I believe in improving by trial and error. Read More

I am a caring and motivating music teacher and I love using students gifts to help develop their musicianship goals. I graduated from the University of Arizona in December of 2019 with a Bachelor of Music Education. My greatest passion is playing and teaching Irish music because I was given the opportunity to study abroad while in college and fell in love with the music tradition. I have traveled and played flute and Irish Tin Whistle in many countries and I hope to inspire students to reach for what they are passionate about with open arms. Read More

I'm a multi-instrumentalist who loves making music with other people. Making music is a fundamental human experience, and too many people feel that it is out of reach for them, or that the only way to participate in music-making is to play in a band or orchestra. I fully believe that there are many valid ways of learning and playing music, as well as calling yourself a musician. My journey has not been typical for a musician: after a lifetime of casual music-making, I decided at the age of 43 to go back to school for a degree in Music Education from The University of Arizona.
