I am extremely dedicated to my students. Understanding how exciting it is to play with accompaniment, I have played piano for multiple student recitals in order for them to learn collaborative skills as well. The piano is also a great way to teach harmony, music theory and improvisation because of its a visual and kinaesthetic elements. When a piano is not available, I make arrangements in my notation software, so that they can still gain the skills and experience, therefore having the music making process a more emotionally rewarding activity. I Love teaching music, and love helping others progress on their musical journeys! I've played music for as long as I can remember, and spent my childhood learning just about every instrument I could get my hands on. As a young adult, I rigorously practiced piano and studied music theory, eventually writing an 80 page thesis analyzing jazz piano improvisation in college. Now, I like to spread my love of music by showing others how much joy it has brought to my life, and helping them to experience that same joy. Read More

I started teaching in my last year of undergraduate study. By sharing my idea of what I learned from my teacher to my student, I found myself become a better musician and teacher. I encourage my student to listening to different genre of saxophone playing, going to concerts and recitals, because the more the student engaging to the music world, the more they eager to learn. As soon as they start to learn an instrument, it is important to make plans and goals for their future study. Read More

My teaching methods are very straightforward. We spend a lesson working through one or two songs. These songs can be provided by the student or by myself. After running through the songs we examine the tools that would be best used to improve the sound and performance of the songs. The most common techniques that I use in lessons are chiaroscuro resonance, even flow phonation, and vowel equalization. I believe in improving by trial and error. Read More
