Instruments: Flute Clarinet Recorder Piccolo Music

I am extremely dedicated to my students. Understanding how exciting it is to play with accompaniment, I have played piano for multiple student recitals in order for them to learn collaborative skills as well. The piano is also a great way to teach harmony, music theory and improvisation because of its a visual and kinaesthetic elements. When a piano is not available, I make arrangements in my notation software, so that they can still gain the skills and experience, therefore having the music making process a more emotionally rewarding activity. Instruments: Piano

I have used Hal Leonard and Bastien. If the parent has a older method book they wish to use I start there and fill in as I see needed. I encourage a slow start to get all the basics understood, then progress at the student's own pace and interests. Handouts and charts are supplemented as most students can't afford all the music books requested in a series. If a student feels frustrated then a short walk from piano to the other side of the room shaking out the arms and fingers gets us back on track. Read More

Instruments: Drums

I have a very unique teaching style in the sense that it is derived from playing in a professional rock band. I'm very versatile and teach many styles as well. I believe in attaining a level of tightness and professionalism through basic fundamentals. I also believe that the process should be fun and gratifying. I look forward to showing what I have to offer and helping you progress and become the best drummer you can possibly be! Read More

Instruments: Violin Viola

I'll find the best methods for each student, and I believe that methods can be varied. For example, Suzuki Methods only can bring a beginner to medium level. After few year training with Suzuki, it is hard to make progressions on technique. However, Suzuki Methods can be a good fit for children under 10, because of the fun of study. Read More

Instruments: Piano Guitar Trumpet Trombone Saxophone Oboe Music

I tailor my teaching to each student's needs and interests. I emphasize overall musicianship in addition to learning to the fundamentals of the particular instrument, splitting most lessons 50/50 between fundamentals on the instrument and musicianship skills such as music theory, sight-reading, sight-singing, playing by ear, and composition or improvisation. For students in a school band or orchestra program, I will work with them on their band music and bring in additional material as enrichment. Read More

Instruments: Cello

I am a passionate and fun loving instructor who adores bonding with students over a shared love of the cello. I have spent the past decade performing solo and in ensembles, and studying under the tutelage of many great professors. I am currently studying under Dr. Theodore Buccholz at the University of Arizona, where I am pursuing degrees in cello and neuroscience. The intersection between cello and neuroscience fascinates me, and I love to use my knowledge of the brain to make practicing as effective and effortless as possible for my students. Read More
