Instruments: Cello Music
I always try to create a friendly and respectful environment where my students can feel free to express themselves without being judged. I also appreciate and take care of my relationship with my students since I believe the influence of a teacher is part of what shapes a student's personalities and experiences in their present and future. I am a current DMA candidate and teaching assistant at LSU. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in flute performance from UC Santa Barbara, and a Master of Music degree in flute performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at CSU Long Beach. Instruments: Violin Viola
My teaching experience dates back to my high school years. There was always a shortage of viola teachers, and I was often asked to teach my classmates. After I graduated, I worked as a violin and viola instructor at my school for a few months before moving to the United States. I have been teaching private lessons for seven years to students of all ages. As an artist and instructor, I believe in the power of discipline and how it can shape our lives. Read More
Instruments: Piano
My teaching experience dates back to my college days, when I was offered a teaching position as a piano instructor in an academy of music. I have consistently taught the piano for 15 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points which help students -especially younger ones- to progress and develop a passion for the piano. My students are encouraged to enter competition and recitals so they can stay focused and motivated to learn. Read More
Instruments: Piano
My methods vary according to the students interests and development. But I also have a guideline of references. For the beginners, I like to use Faber Faber, Boris Berlin's Four Stars, and some Alfred's piano methods. As we go to intermediate, I focus mostly on repertoire, sight reading, harmonization and, if the student likes, some improvisation. The books vary according to the student. For advanced players, the focus is in the repertoire, so probably we will be using performance editions for the repertoire, with preference for the Urtext (original text) ones. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone Flute Piccolo Oboe
For beginning students, I use the Standard of Excellence book 1 by Bruce Pearson. For intermediate students, I use the Standard of Excellence book 2, and for the advanced students, I use the Standard of Excellence book 3. I introduce solo repertoire to the middle and advanced students. I will find what will suite the students. My teaching is style is unique to say the least. I am about grabbing the student from where they are and preparing them to be successful and ready for the next level. With me failure is not an option. We will set realistic goals and tackle them as we work to our ultimate goal. As the student progresses they will be acknowledged and we will keep striving for excellence. What is excellence you may ask, excellence is defined as the product of hardwork and extra effort that makes the difference between an acceptable job and an exceptional job. Read More
