I teach all styles, rock,blues,jazz,classical,funk,r and b,country and have taught all age groups from beginners to advanced. I began teaching lessons in college, and have enjoyed it from the very first day. I try to evaluate each student spefifically and see what they need to improve in the most efficient manner possible. Exercises and drills are present in my lessons, but I alwaystry to teach the bulk of trumpet fundamentals through actual music such as etudes, solos, band music, duets,etc. In this style of teaching, the students can pick what they want to play (after I give them a few guidelines), and we can still target the areas of playing that need work. I then went into private teaching in 2009, and have been teaching student of all ages at their homes. Teaching guitar and bass began for me around the same time I stared gigging seriously. People who were at the show or even people in other bands would come up and ask if I gave lessons. I developed a lesson plan and began teaching. I have taught both beginners and advanced players but most of my students have been just starting out. Through my program, my students typically learn how to make music with their instrument relatively quickly as I believe that is a key factor in keeping them interested in playing. Read More
