I am a high energy instructor that brings my passion for singing, attention to the individual, and knowledge of vocal technique into each and every lesson. I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2011 with a Bachelor of Musical Arts Degree. I continued my education and received a Masters of Music degree from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in 2013. I started teaching in high-school. I taught guitar and drums from ages 7 to 55, from the absolute beginner to someone rekindling an old habit. I had the opportunity to use the lessons I was learning in college while I was still in college. I not only was a tutor, but I had some students outside of school. This helped my skills as a teacher improve quickly. I have been teaching trombone since the summer of 2011, and have also taught some euphonium/baritone and tuba lessons as well. I desire to help students grow in their love of music, and to help them to be self-motivated. It is my responsibilityfor 30-60 minutes a weekto teach a student how to improve, but it is up to the student to improve and learn the rest of the week. My teaching experience started in 2010 at my own studio in Alexandria, MN. Since moving to the Minneapolis area, I have regrown my studio in this region. I work with students to achieve their goals which can be anywhere from advanced student goals, beginner students learning for fun, and adult students learning a music instrument as a hobby.
