Haeyoon is currently a part of the prestigious studio of Aldo Parisot at the Yale School of Music as she pursues her Artist Diploma. She is an avid chamber musician at Yale and in her community as an active member of several chamber groups. Her Yale piano trio has been selected to perform at the prestigious Vista Chamber Concert, after having been selected from several nominated groups throughout Yale. Recently they have also won the Chamber Music Competition held across all intrumentations and performed the Piano Trio in C Major by Johannes Brahms at the Winners Concert in May 2012. Read More

After graduating Whitman, I interned as a music teacher at the Spring Street International School in Friday Harbor, WA. I was mentored by a great teacher, Grisha Krivchenia and learned how to be a compassionate teacher. I helped teach composition, music theory, small groups, bass and guitar. During my graduate studies at the Longy School of Music, I took a two semester sequence of pedagogy coursework which included teaching two high school students under the supervision of a Longy flute professor. I also participated in the Teacher Training Program at the Boston Flute Academy where I taught workshops to adults and junior high students on sight-reading and intonation, and masterclasses to advanced junior high and high school students. This gives me an idea of what they want to be learning in the coming months, and I create a path for them that leads that direction, from the very first step.
