I have fun and easy lessons that are customized to your musical interests. I'll teach you the songs that you want to learn. I have given thousands of lessons during my 35 years of playing guitar. I began playing guitar in 1981 and studied with several experienced music teacher during the following five years. I began playing professionally in 1986 and began teaching professionally in 1998. For young beginning students, I really like to emphasize the fundamentals using whatever book the student uses for their band class. Once they get a good grasp on the fundamentals, then I start to introduce some solo repertoire appropriate to their skill level. For students who are older, I like to find out what area of the trumpet they want to improve on and structure our lessons to try and improve on those areas, as well as incorporate other fundamentals and solo repertoire. I try to make the lessons as fun as possible and geared towards what the student wants to learn. Read More

My goal is for my students to love music and enjoy the process of learning and growing and reaching their personal goals as a musician. Whether that's just playing for fun or preparing them for a recital or coffee shop gig or professional studio recording experience or preparing their part for the musical group that they participate in; I have helped my students with all these things. I strive to have a positive teaching style by focusing on their strengths and helping them achieve their personal goals. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone
With younger beginning saxophone students I start them with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements book 1. This Provides a great foundation for students to start on and benefits in the long run. For mid range skill level students we start with (depending upon skill) the Rubank beginning or intermediate method book. This provides a lot of melodic material for them to grow as a musician. Lastly, for the advanced we would start with Ferling Etudes which really challenge the student at a higher level. Read More

I like to challenge my students when I feel they should be. I also try very hard to showcase them whenever possible to show the community the great talent that is amongst us. I would have to say my main approach to teaching is figuring out what works best for each individual student, seeing as though everyone learns differently and at different paces. Forcing a student to learn something when they don't want to is something I do not allow, I can only encourage but not force. Read More
Instruments: Drums
I teach all levels from Beginner through Advanced. I often, with beginners, make sure we learn the fundamentals. This gives them a firm foundation, so when we move on, we are not forced to go back to the beginning. I believe the key to being an advanced drummer is the concept of foot-hand independence. That is the idea of getting both of your hands, and both of your feet all doing separate things at the same time. Read More
