I focus on engaging my younger students, encouraging them to find their voice, and focusing on fun along the way. It is important that younger students have fun, and are encouraged to continue learning this art form. For adult students, I focus on repertoire and material that they want to focus on learning in their own style. I emphasize breath support, body alignment, connectivity, and remaining comfortable. I frequently compliment the student's effort and work, as I understand the struggles that they are having, and it is important to recognize their strengths and help them overcome their weaknesses in order to succeed. I am originally from Los Angeles, California and after completing my bachelors in San Fransico I moved to Wichita to earn two  master's degrees from WSU. I am a composer and pianist who has had their music played by many musiciains ranging from student to professional. I have also played piano with the Wichita State University Wind Ensemble.  I am extremely passionate about music and I think it is important for people of all ages to learn how to play music and appreciate the small details that bring music to life.
