For example if I have a guitar student that really wants to be a lead guitarist I will play the solo of one of there favorite songs and teach them a small part of it or all of it if they are at an advanced level. My education background is in civil engineering, so tend to be a hands-on, problem solving teacher. If a student has a weakness, I tend to focus on correcting the problem point and focus before moving on. I believe in consistent practice which fits within the confines of one's schedule.
