I believe encouragement is the best way to help a student succeed. I believe music lessons should be enjoyable and try to make them fun. All of my lessons are built around songs to teach technique and I add materials to teach theory and musicianship if the student wants and needs it. I always interview each student to find out their interests and desires and and build a custom curriculum eight lessons at a time to insure satisfaction and success on the students terms. I have student assessments at the end of each eight lessons block to make sure that the student knows how they have improved and where they need more work. Read More

The addition of drummer extraordinaire Mike Shannon to the quartet establishes a portal to new sonic landscapes and emotions to be explored in this collection of 9 original pieces by the guitarist. The music, which takes the listener through the realms of impressionistic, classical, jazz, experimental, and new age, always retains the unique sonic footprint that has brought critical acclaim to the quartet all over the world. Vitchev paints a vivid pastoral landscape with epic sweep, often recalling the big-sky sound of Pat Metheny. Read More

The most rewarding thing I experience is when I see a student get super excited after they have just learned something new and challenging. My approach to learning guitar is like a mini game in which you know when you have passed a certain level. It is clear what's next, and you can't move on until you have beaten the boss of each level, and my students love this! I look at guitar a lot differently than most people, and I also teach it differently. Read More
