I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves to teach. I greatly enjoy helping students achieve their musical goals. I try to learn as much as I can from all my influences and express it in my own way. Music is a deep reflection of a persons personality. Its taught me Discipline, Patience, Commitment, and a deep understanding of myself. Music should be shared with others, so get out there, jam, listen to the greats and learn. There are no limits on what you can achieve if you dedicate yourself. Read More

I have a series of written exercises for all levels of students for each instruments, as well as a list of songs I assign to help them build a repertoire. However, the interests of the student come first and foremost. I try to keep the material close to the styles the student favors so they stay engaged and enjoy the challenge of learning their favorite songs. Read More

Hi! My name is Darrin, I've been playing guitar, mainly as a hobby, for over 40 years. I have been in bands for most of that time and have played 100s of gigs. My experience spans a diverse musical mix. Acoustic/electric. Covers/originals. Oldies, rock, pop, punk, heavy metal, blues, classical and a little country. I have taught off and on for about 5 years and love to see my students experience the joy of learning and playing music. Read More

I like to know what it is the student wants to learn. It is very important that the student has a grasp on the fundamentals of music and music theory so they can understand what it is they are learning, but every student should have the opportunity to adjust and set their own pace. I also want my students to have their passion and drive for music to be renewed every week after each lesson. Read More

I realize that each student is different, so I treat them as individuals. However, I do stress regular daily practice, even for short time periods. Regularity in practice is more important than long practice periods in my experience. I try to apply the three T's in my own playing and gradually incorporate these into my teaching, TASTE, TONE and TECHNIQUE. I enjoy seeing students progress because it reassures me that I understand the subject well, You have to know a subject 3 times as well if you teach it because a student will always ask a question you never thought of. Testing each category to see where the student's. Strong point are. After which I will be able to make lesson plans for them to follow even out side of the class. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
