The best way to teach is to teach yourself all over again. I love to set realistic goals, while giving them a harder piece to juxtapose their progress. I never pressure them or bog them down with too much. Acknowledging their progress is always a great way to motivate them. I have a variety of methods that I use to teach students.  I have used many Hal Leonard's band and guitar books, I use a wide variety of materials so that the students can achieve their goals. There is always new material coming out and I will also write my own technical exercises if the student needs them.
