I've been teaching music for a little over 5 years (2014). I have started many kids who don't know if they would rather learn guitar, drums, or piano. So I give them a tour of all three and show them the basics before they decide their favorite. I encourage consistent practice and practice methods that ensure that the students always feel a sense of improvement without frustration. I began guitar lessons at 9 with a music teacher in the neighborhood who had a good reputation. However, I found his teaching style to be lacking warmth or any specific direction. I said yes. I started lesson at 6 with a local teacher that would come around to all the kids in my neighborhood. I took lesson for 6 years and then went on to explore sports. At 18 I went back to my guitar and relearned by myself all the lessons I had gone through. I also started taking lesson at a local music store and I attended the college of San Mateo and took 4 semesters of Theory and musicianship. Read More
