I'm a dedicated music teacher who loves motivating my students to be their best. I teach voice, piano, and guitar, as well as beginners on brass instruments and steel drum. I graduated from the University of Alabama in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education and a minor in Spanish. I love music as a way to challenge myself and others, to communicate things that words can't say, and to take us to new and exciting places. Read More

My number one goal is to help my students accomplish their musical dreams, whether that be a classical pianist, a pop singer, the front person for a rock band, write songs or compose music for film, or just sing their favorite song of all time, whatever it takes, I will make sure that we get to the musical destination. It's important that each student progresses at their own pace. I always ask my students for one long term goal and one short term goal so that we can cast vision for where we are headed, map out the challenges along the way, but also celebrate the goals that we accomplish especially in the short term. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music. It is so important that each individual student progresses at his or her own ace. I encourage this progress by setting realistic and clear goals for my students at each lesson. When I acknowledge their accomplishments, it helps to fuel the desire to learn of the student and makes them eager to learn more. Once I find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction towards the wants and needs of my students. Read More

For children and beginning studetns, I will typically start in a level one method book. This allows us to get acquainted with the instrument and some terminology that may be a bit foriegn for some students. This also provides an opportunity to learn how to read basic notes and chords which will highly accelerate our learning process. For those with experience and established musical interests, I will form a plan and practice schedule based around the interest and concepts that the student seeks from theirmusical quest. Read More

I love watching my students learn and grow, musically. I encourage listening as much as possible in addition to daily practice. I like to give my students a variety of excercises or pieces to work on to ensure that they don't get bored or burnt out practicing the same thing. I am very laid back and easy to get along with, and I feel that above all else music should be exciting and fun for the student, whether it be performing in recitals or shows or simply for one's own enjoyment.
