For young, beginning students, I typically start with teaching basic playing technique and note reading through simple songs, in order to ensure the student has a grasp of the fundamentals of playing and reading. After this point, I introduce chords and scales and more advanced songs, in order to further develop the student's playing and reading capabilities. I began teaching guitar 10 years ago after receiving my Bachelor's of Music with a Studio Art Minor from the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh. In 2008, I graduated with a Master's degree in Guitar Performance from the University of Wisconsin Madison while studying under internationally famed performer and recording artist Javier Calderon.
