I began teaching while I was still a student at the Conservatory of Music in the 1990's I was Voice Teacher at the Intermezzo Music School in Guaynabo, PR. I taught all ages from 7 - 69. I stayed there for 7 years. I also gave private singing lessons to students at my own home in Carolina, PR. For over 47 years I have played and instructed guitar. I began playing back in September of 1967 at the age of 10, on an inexpensive acoustic guitar purchased by my father from a pawn shop. I am self taught and learned to play by watching other guitarists, reading guitar instructional books, and listening to record albums. For beginners or people that are brand new to the guitar we typically break the lesson into halves. The first half is typically practicing pentatonic scales and basic finger exercises and maybe some rhythm drills before moving onto simplified versions of famous classic songs.
