Once the student has progressed and has a good grasp of the fundamentals, I will bring in other repertoire appropriate to their level. Because my first experience with learning guitar/guitar lessons (when I was  9 years old) was very boring (just learning from a guitar method) I work at trying to make music fun. This makes me feel very good to see them grow musically. I set reasonable goals for them to strive for and help them get to the next level. They are here because they want to be shown. The last thing I want for my students is to feel burdened by bookwork while learning the guitar.
