Since then, I have held teaching positions at various summer programs teaching music to elementary school children. My main goals in teaching are to ensure that the student is having fun and enjoying the music that they play and that classical music and instrumental instruction are accessible to students of all backgrounds. In college I had the opportunity to direct and teach a community flute choir for adults. Currently I teach private and group lessons to high school students through the Boston Public Public School District. Giving them a choice in at least one song we do every so often, to me, is the way to keep them interested in the art. For beginner piano students I generally work out the Faber Piano Adventures and for adults I use The Older Beginner Piano Course by Bastien. For Flute students I use the Trevor Wye Beginners Book for the Flute. Clarinet I use the Rubank Method books. In 2010, I began my undergraduate education in Flute Performance at the renowned University of Southern California Thornton School of Music. I've enjoyed learning new performing styles by participating in competition and groups from across the United States. My musical background is diverse.
