Now that I am building my own woodwind studio, I want to emphasize learning the basics, as I lacked that in my own early schooling. Music fundamentals are the building blocks of successful musicians. My curriculum will include the Breeze Easy method books, Rubank beginner and intermediate books as well as Suzuki flute and piano books and other etude and repertoire pieces to help the students build a solid library of their own. I usually start out using the Rubank Method, but I frequently incorporate some Suzuki and other ear training methods as well. I also like to use Trevor Wye's books for more advanced students. I like to expose all students to a classical repertoire of performance pieces, using basics for beginners and progressing in difficulty as the student gains more control of the instrument. I use a variety of books with etudes, or studies, to give students a strong background in technique while also teaching various musical concepts such as theory and improvisation. Read More

I was interested in teaching from a young age; I loved to play school with my friends. I started tutoring in high school, as well as teaching private flute lessons. I have taught private lessons since 2017 and have loved every moment of it, both with beginners and with more advanced high school students. I began working as a marching band technician in 2021 and have since worked for numerous schools. Spending time with these students of all ages and interests brings me great joy, and I know that further pursuance of music will bring the same fulfillment to students for years to come. Read More
