I have participated in the BU Tanglewood Institute Young Artists Orchestra and the Texas Festival Orchestra at the Round Top Festival Institute. At Juilliard, I have performed in Alice Tully Hall with the Juilliard Orchestra, the New Juilliard Ensemble, the AXIOM ensemble. In my free time, I participate in community outreach through benefit concerts and as a member of the United Nations Chamber Music Society, the United Nations charity chamber music series that raises money for the United Nations Refugee Fund. My teaching style is one of flexibility, but still with expectations. I cater specifically to the needs of the student, and choose repertoire and exercises that will fit with their needs. I encourage positive self-assessments and self talk, and strongly believe that progress is based on collaborative efforts of the student and teacher. I graduated from Temple University initially in 2011, but was drawn back several years later to complete my Master's Degree, which ended in 2015. I have performed all across the state of Pennsylvania, in Connecticut, New York, Delaware, and as far away as Italy. I have brought beginners who have never touched music before to work up to Bach and Vivaldi, as well as to their favorite classics like Fleetwood Mac. On the other hand, I have a high level of training and have coached young semi professionals before auditions and competitions to help fine tune their playing before the big day. In college I began my teaching career. I started teaching private lessons, band classes, and General Music classes. I continue to teach currently as well. Teaching music is truly my passion! Through my teaching I want to spark a passion for music in my students. It is important to me that my students truly enjoy learning music. I use the following method books, depending on the age and ability of the student: Alfred, Bastian and John Thompson. For younger students (under eight years old) I usually use the Alfred all in one book.. for older children, I use the Bastian set of four books: piano performance, technic and theory.
