Because of this, I have had to adopt my style accordingly to the diversity of my students, as their goals and learning styles differ widely. How much time goes in to each category will depend on the student. I have not yet started my teaching career but I am super excited to start gaining experience with all of you! I have taken a flute pedagogy class at my undergraduate, Gettysburg College and a woodwind and brass method class during my graduate studies at The Longy School of Music. I have much more experience performing and participating in summer flute masterclasses. It has been truly rewarding to see students' growth when they smile after finishing learning a song! Recently I did a practice flute challenge for my students, they were rewarded with a gift card if they completed the number of minutes they needed for 4 weeks. Having a goal in mind for them, pushed them to practice different things with a focused mindset.
