I am a musician, composer, and educator seeking to share my musical knowledge with students who are eager to learn. I was born into a musical family, and was exposed to great music from an early age. I began playing the piano when I was eight, picked up the saxophone at ten, and have been playing flute and clarinet now for about six years. For voice students, I have my own curriculum to help them know how to use their voice in a good way. For piano beginning students I typically start with Piano Adventures method. For Flute students, I start with Rubank Elementary method. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire. I have song lists that have songs in different styles and levels for the student to choose from, and I also encourage students bringing songs they like to keep the lessons engaging and fun. New York-based musician Daniel Jamieson grew up in Toronto, Canada. He currently works as a free-lance composer, conductor, woodwind specialist, and educator. Daniel's writing commissions span a variety of styles including jazz, pop, and musical theatre. He leads a 10 piece jazz ensemble, the Daniel Jamieson Tentet and his own big band, the Danjam Orchestra.
