I am a Suzuki and traditional teacher. I encourage public performances as often as possible and will help students identify appropriate opportunities to do so. Students who study with me drive their own education by making choices. You can choose Suzuki or traditional flute lessons. I do not put deadlines or timelines on any student's progress, and I also realize that each student's needs are unique to each and every person. I try to teach things both visually and by ear, so that the student does not feel that they have to wait to play fun music until they are advanced enough. I have taken a flute pedagogy class at my undergraduate, Gettysburg College and a woodwind and brass method class during my graduate studies at The Longy School of Music.
