For adults and intermediate to advanced children, I use a combination of books from different authors e.g. Taffanel Gaubert Flute Method, Marcel Moyse books, for technique development and also many pieces from the classical repertory. I also let the students choose pieces of any style that theyre interested in playing and they can handle. When I first meet a student, I like evaluate their current skill level and based on that, I will have an idea of which direction to guide them. I will learn their intentions of what their goals are short term and long term so we can work together to prepare for what is to come. We will study fundamentals, solo repitore, scales, basic theory and contemporary technique. I will also work with helping the student to choose an upgrade flute if they feel they are ready.
