I always explore different methods that might fit the age and personality of the student but for keyboard lessons I have found success with the Alfred Piano Method. Instrumental lessons usually follow the method book that is selected by their school band director. I ask them to bring any materials they have and will often recommend books and supplemental material I have had success with.
