I also shadowed high school and middle school students lessons through the Hartt School Community division. I was able to learn to teach these students guided by several experienced and accomplished flute instructors. Now currently I am an adjunct flute instructor at NYU. I believe the most important thing about learning music is that they have to first enjoy playing the flute. I make students practice and expect them to go to certain levels, but I first make them fall in love with the flute first. For 1 hour flute lessons, I usually spend 10 minutes on tone(sound quality) and air usage, since these are the most important fundamentals of learning the flute.
