My lessons are student driven. I typically assign some technique, repertoire, and theory assignments each week. I often try to include a “student challenge” most weeks in order to gauge how much a student is understanding during the lessons. I modify my styles based on what seems most effective for the student. Sometimes a student really needs 5 pieces to work on over a longer stretch of time. I approach lessons by striking a balance between what the student wants to work on and instilling the fundamental skills that are needed to approach whatever they want to learn. Students will learn stick technique, rudiments, reading, and limb independence/coordination. 2004-2007 marched world championships in WGI with Black Knights and Pulse Percussion 2006 Marched the Rose Parade as a tenor drummer. 2015 - Awarded a plaque from Los Angeles City Counsel for teaching Madison Middle School, becoming State Champs. 2016-2018 Taught Madison Middle School drumline and got them to be 4-peat State Champs. Ive written a lot of original music materials for students as well and many of my past students graduated becoming a top honor in their class. Read More
