My teaching method is a simple stacking method we start with a lesson, I try to find where the student may struggle most and spend time with that. Then we move forward, but revisit the lesson prior for continuity. I began taking private lessons shortly after I joined the band program in middle school. I continued to take lessons all throughout high school and college. Shortly after graduating high school I was offered the position of drum instructor. During college I taught for several years as the drum instructor at Winter Haven High School. For single lessons, I perform an inventory of skills, supplementary lesson, and assessment for an improvement plan. I select technique and training material in conjunction with any programs in which the student is currently participating (i.e. school band programs, other instruction, etc.).
