I always want the best for my students and want them to be able to go as far they want to go with drums. I like starting students off with reading since it helps with understandingrhythm and will make your practice time more well-spent. If you can read music you can get any drum book and just read through it,play like the stars. PRETTY COOL! I also teach hand technique which was taught to me from a direct student of JOE MORELLO. I approach teaching in layers. Step one leads to step two, we cant skip steps! I find it important that for beginners we follow this structure. More advanced students will be on a case by case basis in regards to where we start. I emphasize imprivisation in every lesson weather it be on drums, piano or trombone. Playing music right off the top of your head, and in the moment is something you can't learn out of a book! Read More

I want my students to not only have a working knowledge of music, but also a passion and love for it. One of the beauties of music is that it stays with you for a lifetime. I will encourage and guide my students to the best of my ability, by setting realistic goals and inspiring them to keep progressing in their musicianship. Read More
Instruments: Drums
I'm a self-taught drummer whose influences are very broad, from '80s Hair Metal to '90s Grunge to punk and country, classic rock, hip-hop, heavy metal, blues, funk, even bluegrass. The only styles I don't play or teach (that are popular) are screamo, death metal (no blast beats here), and jazz. I'm good with just about anything else and can always teach the basics from beginner to advanced. Read More
Instruments: Drums
For beginner, start with simply touching every part of Drum set, thus students can see how it sounds like, and how fun it is to simply hit the drums. After that I would start with hand technique, which is 3 basic stroke patter, and how to apply them to every part of Drum set. For Advanced beginners, I would start from getting touch with rudiments, and sight reading so that student will have well rounded skills, over all good drummer so to say. Read More

For beginners, I firmly believe in establishing strong fundamentals. However, you can't spell fundamentals with out "fun"! So, even while building fundamentals, music lessons should be fun and geared toward what the student wants out of all of this. Whether that's learning a specific song, style, cool musically visual trick, or just jamming, I'm here for it all! Musical journeys are specific to the individual and therefore there is no one path that all students must follow. Read More

One thing I love to do is understand the kid I am teaching. Because I love to teach, it makes me happy to see my students enjoy what they learn, and that is why it is important to me to develope good teaching habits and a good sense of direction. I like my students to have fun learning, and feel comfortable growing without limiting themselves. I also try to be as organized as possible. Read More
