I love to see how much all of my students improve and overcome their "blocks" on the drums. I usually make a little recording of the new student on day 1 and then make them listen to it after a few lessons: It always surprises them to see how far they've gone! Those little accomplishments are a great motivation for my students to "keep at it" and continue progressing and growing as musicians. Read More

My teaching experience began in 1980 while still in high school teaching private lessons. Since then Ive taught at Westminster Choir College, Rutgers University, NJ State and County Teen Arts Programs as well as private and group lessons in my own studio. My casual approach allows students the relaxation and freedom necessary to learn at their own pace. With a strong focus on fundamentals and using those fundamentals as building blocks, my goal is to help students become musical and creative and find their own unique voice on their instrument. Learning a musical instrument is very challenging and for most of us it doesn't come naturally. It's unfortunate when students become frustrated too quickly in the process and decide to quit out of frustration. In my style of teaching, it's very important that students feel some level of success no matter where they are in their own musical journey. Often I will perform lesson materials in unison along with students to help them if they are feeling anxious or uncomfortable. Read More

I have been teaching since 2005, a few years before moving to the USA. In Boston I started teaching privately while attending Berklee College of Music. In New York since 2011, I've worked for School of Rock and Jammin' With You, teaching both private students and at the school facilities. Lately I've been focusing on teaching in my private studio in Brooklyn or at the student's home. Read More

My teaching style focuses on learning and playing in a musical fashion. Whether the student is playing and exercise or a composition it always should sound musical. I want my students to internalize what they are playing so that it can become a part of them. They should become one with the music. I set realistic goals which will change along with the progression of the student. I believe in giving them positive feedback along with constructive critiques. Read More

I aim to make the student not feel judged. This creates an optimal learning experience, for Ifirmly believe that in order fortrue progress to be obtained, the student willmust notbe afraid to make mistakes. The correction of the mistake is the moment where the student learns exactly how something should be played, since there is somethingto compare it to.It is important that a student go through a stage of experimentation in order to intuitively arriveat an understanding of a concept.
