I have played in venues from small coffee houses to The Paramount in Huntington, NY.  I have played in many groups and ensembles as a premier performer and, of course, as part of the "tutti".  I have studied under Micheal Bellajonas at Suffolk County Community College and Jerry Willard at Stony Brook University in my classical guitar studies.  I maintain a violin/guitar duet with my wife, who is on her way to becoming a music educator.  I've taught all different types of students and am very open and patient to everyone's needs. My method of teaching focuses on Technique and Musicality. No matter the level of student, these areas can be practiced and results will be heard thru the focus on these. Reading music is taught, but naturally along with the focus on the two areas mentioned before. For example, Eddie wants to learn ACDC's "Back in Black". In 1983, I attended The Guitar Institute of Technology and studied privately with Frank Gambale, who formalized the single line "sweep technique" on guitar. While in L.A. I also studied with Ed Mann, longtime Frank Zappa percussionist and teacher at Cal. Arts. My first priority when I meet a student is to nurture and begin to stoke their own fire and love for rhythm, music and the drums. I want the student to be happy, and to have fun. Progress is obviously one of my primary goals as well, however I don't believe a student can begin to make valid musical progress if they are not enjoying themselves.
