My teaching style begins with creating a positive environment for the student to keep them encouraged and wanting to continue their study. I try to keep the students engaged by finding a balance of what the students want to work on, as well as what I want them to be working on. I understand that every student learns differently, and I won't teach every student the same way. I will give the students goals to reach every week, so they can see the progress themselves, and I always ensure to acknowledge when a student has succeeded with something that was assigned to them. I like to set goals for my students. I generally work out of lessons books, solo repertoire, and whatever else the student brings in. If the students have music from classes in school, I will also assist them with that. I try to keep the lesson light, and enjoyable! I like to sit with my students and have them learn about the parts of the instrument as well as getting to know their instrument.
