That way they look forward to practicing and can gain an appreciation for the trumpet. I also want the student to look forward to lessons with me. My Student Teaching semester granted me the opportunity to work with elementary and secondary levels; starting beginners and working with students preparing for district band as well as college careers.  It was nice to work with this range in age and skill level, whether they were aiming for career goals or simply playing for fun!
