As a young child, I was a music nerd, practicing all the time, listening all the time... until practicing started to feel like work and music got competitive. I stopped playing for several years and even when I returned to cello, studying music in college made it feel like I was doing it for all the wrong reasons. After learning the guitar and piano, I went on to several other instruments learning the theory and dedication needed to excel. While doing so, I was able to utilize the music theory in an understanding to be able to apply those theory principals to the instrument for better artistry. The love and passion I have for music is what has inspired me to want to share it with others. I earned my BA in Music Education from The College of New Jersey in 2000 and I have been teaching ever since. For early students, I typically start with the Suzuki books, as I like the organized technical and musical progression of each piece. As the students develop I begin to add supplimentary materials such as etude and scale books. Students can progress from open strings to Bach with ease.
