I have taught a full range of ages and abilities from adult beginners to music school bound high schoolers to classes of young children and know that every student has a unique frame of reference and set of goals. For everyone, I focus on making the instrument feel as comfortable and organic as possible calling on my background with diverse movement modalities from Feldenkrais to dance to sports. I often recommend a Suzuki track for beginner students (I am SAA certified) and I always work to find repertoire and styles which are relatable for each individual. Read More

I have attended various summer music festivals including the Idyllwild Summer Music Festival and the Chautauqua Summer Music Festival where I furthered my love of performing and attended professional masterclasses and performances on a near daily basis. My first experience giving private lessons was at a summer music camp right before my senior year in high school. I have consistently taught piano and cello students for over 10 years independently and as an affiliate of local music stores. My goal as a teacher is for each of my students to make gradual progress each week as they become more proficient with their exercises and music. I hold at least 2 recitals a year which I strongly encourage everyone to take part in. Read More

I have been playing the cello for 13 years now and began giving lessons about five years ago. I have taught everyone from very young beginners, to adults picking up the instrument for the first time, to advanced students preparing to play in a college orchestra. I have prepared many students at all levels for the NYSSMA adjudication, resulting in high scores. However, I encourage students to work on not just their NYSSMA solo, but also to work on thoroughly understanding the skills, techniques, and musicality required of any piece at that level. Read More

Besides bass, I have taught piano, cello, pop vocals, ensemble skills, music theory, music production, and coached based on individual projects. I have played with the National Symphony at the Kennedy Center, in Russia, and at Carnegie Hall as a substitute musician as well as Quintango, a tango group based out of Alexandria, VA. Read More

I'm a performer and educator motivated most by the flash of joy I see in students' faces when they first grasp a new musical concept. With a global perspective on music cultivated by my background performing Brazilian music and American Jazz since childhood, and further bolstered by a B.A. in Anthropology: Ethnomusicology from Ithaca College, I have been a full time touring musician for the last 10 years. In addition to mainstage festival appearances all over the country, I have been lucky enough to teach clinics and master classes in percussion at top conservatories and universities such as Oberlin College & Georgetown University, as well as workshops in high schools, middle schools, & elementary schools all over the US.
